Get Involved

We need volunteers!

Have you ever had a passing thought about wanting to help out your community but you don't always have the time or resources?  We have good news for you!  VIP is currently in need of a few types of volunteers.

The main areas of need are:

Maintenance Volunteers - as with any building, VIP is always in need of general upkeep, maintenance, and repairs.  Unfortunately, VIP may not always have the staff, funding, or expertise necessary.  That's where maintenance volunteers save the day to help VIP make improvements and maintain the property.

Some examples of needs:

  •  Recycling to be delivered to the Wayne Co. Recycling Center at least once a month.
  •  Handyman duties:  fix loose boards on our porch, help with florescent lightbulb replacement, paint common areas, install and/or pack away air conditioners for entire office, etc.

Hotline Volunteers - Victims' Intervention Program receives hundreds of hotline calls each year and has a great need for assistance in that area.  If you have a heart for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, working as a Hotline Volunteer may be the perfect opportunity for you!  You choose when you want to be on-call for after business hours.  We will train you for free.

Special Program Volunteers - Do you want to organize a fundraiser, food drive, or household goods drive where all proceeds benefit VIP?  We will gladly sit down with you and talk about what our clients' current needs are.
