Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer for VIP.
Volunteering is a GREAT way to give back to your community.
Volunteers play a vital role here at VIP. Their time, skills, and compassion allow our agency to extend their reach and assist more survivors of abuse and crime. By donating their time, volunteers help alleviate the strain on staff, enhance the agency’s ability to respond quickly, and contribute to a community-wide effort to aid those impacted by violence and crime. There are several ways that YOU can get involved and make a difference in our community.
Hotline Volunteer
These individuals assist our staff in answering the 24-hour crisis line and will directly interact with victims over the phone. This position requires 80 hours of training (which VIP provides free of charge) before you are able to answer the hotline. The training is half online and half in-person.
Outreach Volunteer
These volunteers help at events. It may include helping plan events or running an information table at a larger community-wide event! This position requires 20 hours of training (which VIP provides at no cost and is half online / half in-person).
Flower Volunteer
Twice a year, VIP holds flower sale fundraisers (Spring & Fall). These successful events bring in a lot of funds that help us continue providing services in both counties! We are always in need of volunteers to help us promote the sales, unload the delivery trucks and deliver orders throughout the county to those who purchased. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking for a way to be involved, but who may not have an abundance of time to donate. If you are interested in helping to make our flower sale a huge success, please call our office at 570-296-4357
